Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a history that combines family scholarship football and community service. First Selmon was raised by Lucious Selmon and Jessie on their Eufala farm. He was the youngest of nine kids. On the football field, he competed alongside three brothers from Oklahoma. All three made All-America. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the leading lineman of the nation. Oklahoma won two National Championships over the three years he was a player of the team. The third scholarship was awarded to him. He was as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon received a degree in education. Lee Roy spent ten hours every week in volunteer work during his college years. Following college, he moved to Tampa played nine years with the Buccaneers played all-pro three times and started a business career. In 1988 he became an account manager for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following associations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him one of the nation's most outstanding young men. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds when playing in the college football league. In 1975, he led the team. He joined University of South Florida in 1993, as assistant director of sports. It was the College Football Hall of Fame honored him in the year the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame was in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. The award presentation was given by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
